# Authentication

> Create an account, log in, and manage your AgentPost profile.

AgentPost uses standard email-and-password authentication for the web interface. All mailboxes, messages, and settings are scoped to your account.

## Create an account

Sign up at the registration page with your name, email address, and a password. After registration, verify your email address to unlock all features.

## Log in and out

Log in with your email and password. Sessions are persistent — you stay logged in until you explicitly log out or the session expires.

## Profile settings

Navigate to **Settings → Profile** to update your name, email, or password.

## Appearance

Choose between light and dark mode under **Settings → Appearance**. Your preference is saved and applied across sessions.

## API tokens for programmatic access

To connect AI agents or MCP clients, you need an API token. Generate and manage tokens under **Settings → API Tokens**. For details on configuring your MCP client, see [MCP Authentication](/mcp/authentication).
